Consciously thinking ahead

Environmental awareness has always been a priority at elobau. As early as during the new construction of the administration wing at the headquarters in Leutkirch in 2008, Executive Director Michael Hetzer paid close attention to important details such as the use of geothermal energy and complex heating and energy control.

elobau produced 2,700 t of CO2 in 2009.

Of this, production is responsible for 1,300 t of CO2.

The remaining 1,400 t of CO2 is created by the consumption of electricity, heating and transportation.

On 1.1.2010, elobau’s first solar park was started up. 10,000 solar panels were installed on 65,000 qm of space in the Fraureuth industrial park in Sachsen. They yield around 2.4 MW of power. This means elobau can nearly balance out the entire CO2 impact caused by extra materials and parts bought.

Sending green signals

“The new elobau solar park is an important part of our environmental and production philosophy. Saving energy is one of our biggest company goals.”

Michael Hetzer, Executive Director
